Operating conditions such as frequent short trips, trailer tow, extremely hot or cold ambient temperatures will influence when the "Change Oil" or "Oil Change Required" mes- sage is displayed. Severe Operating Conditions can cause the change oil message to illuminate as early as 3,500 miles (5,600 km) since last re- set. Vehicles should be serviced as soon as pos- sible, within the next 500 miles (805 km). Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months or 350 hours of engine run time, whichever comes first. At every oil change interval as indicated by oil change indicator system: • Change oil and filter • Rotate tires • Inspect battery and clean and tighten terminals, as required • Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hoses and park brake • Inspect engine cooling system protec- tion and hoses • Inspect exhaust system • Inspect engine air cleaner if using in dusty or off-road conditions Every 4,000 miles (6,500 km): • Change engine oil if vehicle is operated in a dusty or off-road environment or is operated predominately at idle or only very low engine RPMs Every two years or 20,000 miles (32,000 km): • Inspect CV joints • Inspect front suspension, boot seals, tie rod ends and replace, if necessary • Inspect brake linings, replace if neces- sary • Check park brake function, adjust if nec- essary • Replace air conditioning/cabin air filter Every three years or 30,000 miles (48,000 km): • Replace engine air cleaner filter Every 30,000 miles (48,000 km): • Replace spark plugs • Every five years or 50,000 miles (80,000 km): • Change manual transmission fluid if us- ing vehicle for any of the following: trail- er towing, heavy loading, taxi, police, delivery service, off-road, desert opera- tion or more than 50 percent of driving is at sustained high speeds during hot weather Every six years or 60,000 miles (96,000 km): • Replace rear drive assembly fluid • Replace power transfer unit fluid • Change automatic transmission fluid and filter if using vehicle for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet or frequent trailer towing (CVT only) • Change automatic transmission fluid if vehicle is frequently driven: on rough or unpaved roads, on mountain roads, on short trips, in heavy city traffic during hot weather or if it is used for police, taxi, fleet or frequent trailer towing (six- speed only) Every 10 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km): • Inspect and replace PCV valve, if neces- sary Every 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km): • Flush and replace engine coolant Every 12 years or 120,000 miles (192,000 km): • Change automatic transmission fluid and filter (CVT only) Fluids & Capacities Motor Oil: API SAE 5W-20 meeting MS- 6395; capacity is 4.5 quarts (4.26 liters) Coolant: Mopar Antifreeze/Engine Coolant 10 Year/150,000 Mile Formula or equivalent meeting requirements of FCA MS.90032; ca- pacity is 7.2 quarts (6.8 liters) Automatic Transmission Fluid (CVT): Mopar CVTF+4 Continuously Variable Trans- mission Fluid or equivalent Automatic Transmission Fluid (Six- speed): Mopar SP-IV M Automatic Transmis- sion Fluid or equivalent Manual Transmission Fluid: ATF+4 Au- tomatic Transmission Fluid Rear Drive Assembly and Power Trans- fer Unit: SAE 80W-90 API GL 5 Brake Master Cylinder: DOT 3, SAE J1703 S Stand tall with Straight Vertical liftS 1-800-444-4351 ● For tire rotations to oil changes, and all the automotive tasks that have techs on their hands and knees, use BossLifts by Herkules.
