The automotive aftermarket repair industry recognized its concerns and came together to develop MAP Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards (UICS). MAP checksheets and documented standards give consumers the information required to make educated decisions about repairs for their vehicles. Together, the customer and shop use MAP Standards to agree on the work the shop will do on his or her vehicle, helping eliminate confusion and mistrust. The MAP Process, including checksheets, MAP Standards, Reason for Repair Codes, customer and shop bulletins are available to members of the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA). For information on becoming an AMRA member, visit our website.
